The press has pressing frames (2) connecting upper and lower press beams (14, 15). A cylinder piston assembly adjusts a press column and a pressing pressure between each pressing frame and press plates (3). Continuous steel belts (10) are arranged for pulling a press material (16) and are guided over drive and idler pulleys (17, 18) to the press beams. The steel belts are supported by rolling support elements that are guided transverse to belt running direction. Cantilever arms are arranged at one of the pressing frames in a direction of the adjacent pressing frame.
