<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily check the connection states of cables interconnecting electric devices and components in the devices to precisely carry out management of a device configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A connection management system includes a portable terminal, having a receiver that receives radio waves from a GPS satellite and an IC tag communication means that obtains a signal containing identification information on an IC tag fixed to the ens of each cable; a DB which keeps three-dimensional position information of the portable terminal that is obtained by the receiver, identification information of an IC tag of each cable that is obtained by the IC tag communication means; and distance information indicative of the distance between the IC tag communication means and each IC tag; an IC tag absolute position processing unit which calculates the absolute position of each IC tag using the three-dimensional position information and distance information kept in the DB; and a connection determining processing unit which when absolute position information of a first IC tag fixed to an end of one cable, the absolute position information being given by the IC tag absolute position processing unit, matches absolute position information of a second IC tag fixed to an end of another cable to be connected to the one cable as a result of comparison of both information, and determines that both cable are in a state of connection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
