PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transmission apparatus which transmits image data only to an intended image data transmitting destination, and eliminates erroneous transmission of the image data on the request of an image transmission from an unintended image transmission requestor. SOLUTION: The image transmission apparatus 10 such as a scanner compares by a transmission permitting section 14 an identification information ID input from an operation panel 11, with the identification information of an image transmission requesting command CD 10 from the image transmission requestor received at a receiver 13. The image data input from an image capturing unit 16 is transmitted from a transmission part 18 to the transmission destination of the image transmission requesting command CD 10 through the control of a transmission control part 15, when the comparison resultant shows agreement.
