<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitance type occupant sensor for improving the sensation of seating by reducing straight-line parts. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of U-shape sections 11 are disposed in an electrostatic sensor mat 10, and a plurality of S-shape sections 17, where one-side openings 14 and the other-side openings 14 of adjacent U-shape sections 11 from among the plurality of U-shape sections 11 are interconnected alternately in opposite directions are combined.
