PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-core writing utensil which does not smirch a pocket with ink even when a user erroneously inserts the writing utensil with a pen tip projected into the pocket of clothes. SOLUTION: A plurality of writing elements 6 are accommodated in a barrel 2 to be moved forward and backward. Operation bodies 7 are connected with a rear end of each writing element 6. The operation bodies 7 are projected radially outward from window holes 41 of the barrel 2. The pen tip 61 of the writing element 6 is projected from and retracted into a front end hole 31 of the barrel 2 by moving the operation body 7 forward along the window hole 41. An opening 42 for opening the window holes 41 backward is arranged openably and closably in a rear end of the barrel 2. The writing elements 6 and the operation bodies 7 are constituted to be replaceable via the opening 42. A cover 5 for freely opening and closing the opening 42 is arranged in the rear end part of the barrel 2. The cover 5 is constituted to be movable forward and backward in the state that the opening 42 is closed. The state that the pen tip is projected is released by moving the cover 5 forward.
