PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide fiber obtained by using a resource not using petroleum as a raw material and considering the global environment, having high strength retentivity after hot water treatment at a high temperature, small hot-water shrinkage, and excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability, and suitably usable for various kinds of living supplies, industrial materials and clothes applications, to provide a false-twisted yarn, and to provide a woven or knitted fabric using these fibers. SOLUTION: The polyamide fiber is a filament in which a nylon 11 is arranged at least on the fiber surface in the cross section shape of a single fiber, and has a strength of not less than 3.0 cN/dtex after hot water treatment at 130°C for 30 min, a strength retention of not less than 80% after the hot-water treatment at 130°C for 30 min, calculated by formula (1): (strength retention (%) after the hot-water treatment at 130°C for 30 min)=(B/A)×100 (wherein, A is the strength before the hot-water treatment; and B is the strength after the hot-water treatment), and a hot-water shrinkage of not more than 10%.
