PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car washing machine having a top air blowing nozzle for use in drying the upper surface of a vehicle, in which its erroneous action and damage are prevented while avoiding water splashing on a photo-electric sensor installed below an air blowing port of the top air blowing nozzle, a cycle time of car washing operation is not extended and also a drying effect is not decreased. SOLUTION: There is provided a car washing machine WA in which a top air blowing nozzle 21 is moved down, and approached to the surface of a vehicle, and high-pressure air is blown against the surface to dry it. A top air blowing nozzle 21 that can be ascended or descended between its upper limit position H1 and a descending desired position H3 is provided with an intermediate standby position H2. The nozzle is temporarily stopped at this intermediate standby position H2 during its descending motion and the descending motion toward the desired descending position H3 is started again after a photo-electric sensor S is not splashed with water.
