PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow measurement of a radio wave environment of a wireless channel while communication is not performed over a network.SOLUTION: A wireless communication apparatus includes: a communication unit 14 performs wireless communication executed by using one of a plurality of wireless channels to periodically transmit a beacon signal to a plurality of wireless terminal devices existing in the network and performs detection of field intensities of the plurality of wireless channels; and a control unit which selects a prescribed period out of periods in which wireless communication with unspecified wireless terminal devices existing in the network is inhibited, of beacon intervals as a communication limitation period and causes a wireless receiving unit 14b to detect the field intensities of the plurality of wireless channels.
