PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for efficiently and stably producing a plant lectin protein.SOLUTION: The method for producing a transformant for producing a plant lectin protein includes a first transformation step for transferring a DNA fragment for transcription factor expression obtained by linking a gene encoding a transcription factor having properties of being activated by a hormone to a promoter for transcription factor expression to a host cell; a selection step for selecting a transformant for expressing the transcription factor from transformants obtained by the first transformation step; and a second transformation step for transferring a DNA fragment for plant lectin protein expression obtained by linking a cDNA of viral vector obtained by inserting a gene encoding a plant lectin protein to a virus comprising an RNA as a gene with a transcription induction type promoter transcribed and induced by the transcription factor to the transformant selected by the selection step.
