摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which can recover the output characteristics, without causing the polarity of a unit cell to invert. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system includes a fuel cell stack 1, formed by laminating unit cells having a fuel electrode and an oxidant electrode which support a catalyst; a means 8 for supplying and discharging aqueous solution of alcohol to the fuel electrode; and a means 9 for supplying and discharging oxidant to the oxidant electrode. The fuel cell stack 1 includes a control means 11, which is connected to an independent external load 13, and switches between a normal operation mode for supplying power for driving a load and a recovery operation mode aimed at the recovery of the catalyst on an oxidant electrode side. The control means 11 includes a means for contacting the catalyst supported by the oxidant electrode with a reducing agent, so that electromotive force of the unit cell becomes a previously set voltage value or less in the recovery operation mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p>
