PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring device capable of detecting an outer peripheral length of a rotating body such as a tire without stopping a rotary kiln. SOLUTION: The device for measuring the peripheral length of the rotating body in the rotary kiln includes: a rotation detection part 12 for detecting a rotational frequency of a tire 62 by a striker 16 and a proximity sensor 14; a peripheral length measuring part 20 having a peripheral length measurement roller 22 coming into rolling-contact with the outer periphery of the tire 62 and a rotating angle detector 24 for detecting the rotating angle of the peripheral length measurement roller 22; and a control part 40 controlling the operation of the rotation detection part 12 and the peripheral length measuring part 20 and having a calculation part for calculating the peripheral length and the outer diameter of the tire 62 or either of the peripheral length or the outer diameter based on the rotational frequency detected by the rotation detection part 12, the rotating angle detected by the peripheral length measuring part 20 and the peripheral length of the peripheral length measurement roller 22.
