<p>The transparent windows with optically prepd. surfaces are press formed in a die in which the heated block retains its parallel surfaces whilst its rims are deformed by a displacable punch for the generation of sealing surfaces for fitting the window into the television tube. The die comprises pref. a central flat surface inner punch and a profiled outer ring punch with limited travel. The design of the die assures that no damage occurs to the main part of the window and its surfaces stay parallel.</p> |
