PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicating instrument for clearly and transmissively illuminating an indicating part even if a display plate has transmission light quantity adjusting layers. SOLUTION: The indicating instrument includes: a transmissive print layer 23 provided separately from an area of the transmissively-illuminated indicating part 4 provided in the display plate 5; the first transmission light quantity adjusting layer 24 provided on the front face side of the transmissive print layer 23, and formed by a gradation print layer for transmissively illuminating the transmissive print layer 23 to gradually change the quantity of a light transmitted through the display plate 5 with reference to a predetermined area; and the second transmission light quantity adjusting layer 24 provided on the back face side of the display plate 5 to correspond to at least the first transmission light quantity adjusting layer 24, and transmissively illuminating the transmissive print layer 23 to gradually change the quantity of the light transmitted through the display plate 5 with reference to the predetermined area.
