PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the variation of the residual quantities of battery cells regardless of positions. SOLUTION: A battery pack system comprises: a plurality of battery cells 101-10n; one or N pieces (N is an integer of 2 or over) of battery information acquiring modules 111-11n which have functions of acquiring battery information on the plurality of battery cells; and a managing unit 120 for controlling and managing the battery information acquiring modules. The battery information acquiring module is equipped with: a battery information acquiring circuit; a storage circuit for holding the acquired battery information, and two pairs of a transmitting/receiving circuits being equipped with at least light-emitting elements and light-receiving elements for communication. The i-th battery information acquiring module 1 performs communication with the (i-1)-th and (i+1)-th battery information acquiring modules, and is alternately provided with a period, when communication of battery information from the battery information acquiring module takes place in the direction of the first to N-th battery information acquiring modules, and a period when communication of the same takes place in the direction of the N-th to first battery information acquiring modules.
