PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector having high strength and suitable for connection of an optical fiber with a small diameter. SOLUTION: The optical connector 10 includes a connector body 31 which includes a ferrule housing 33 holding a ferrule 36 inside; and a connector housing 20 which holds the connector body and from which rear end the ferrule projects the rear end thereof. On the portion of a fiber post 21, through which an optical fiber advances into the connector housing, a first clamping ring 19 which cramps the optical fiber and the fiber post integrally, and a second clamping ring 18 which cramps a tension-reinforcing member and the optical fiber, the fiber post, and the first clamping ring integrally are provided.
