PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed processing system wherein optimum parallelism is defined from an index for performing parallel execution. SOLUTION: This distributed processing system for executing an application includes a parallel-processable processing element, a control unit, and a client requesting the execution of the application from the control unit. The processing element includes: at least one processing block processing at least one task made to be executed by the processing element at least when the executing the application; a processing block control part calculating the parallelism based on the index for controlling the parallelism received from the control unit; a division part dividing processing data input to the processing block based on the parallelism by the processing block control part; and an integration part integrating the processing data output from the processing block based on the parallelism by the processing block control part.
