PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable cycle engine capable of suppressing the deterioration of an engine output. SOLUTION: In the variable cycle engine 10, cams 73, 74 for actuating an intake valve 85 and an exhaust valve are mounted on a camshaft 26 so as to be switchable. The camshaft 26 is driven by a crankshaft 11 to switch between four cycle and six cycle. The cam for six cycle of the cams 73, 74 is composed of a first intake cam 75 having two cam crests and a first exhaust cam 77 having two cam crests.
