PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and reasonable optical device where degrees of freedom in package designing and package material selection is increased. SOLUTION: The optical device includes: a package 1 where a recessed part 17 is formed; an optical sensor 2 placed in the recessed part 1 of the package 1; and a transparent material 7 that is provided on the package 1, and forms a hollow construction by covering the recessed part 17.
