PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method of a crane and control device of the same for supplying the minimum power required to operate the crane, providing excellent power generation efficiency, saving fuel consumption, and reducing toxic material in exhaust gas in the operating method of the crane in which a power supply device having an engine and a generator is mounted and control device of the same. SOLUTION: The crane 1 includes a data receiving step for receiving container information D1 including weight information of a container 36 to be loaded/unloaded from a container terminal control system 15, a required power calculation step for calculating the power amount required by a main machine 6 based on the weight information of the container, a target engine speed calculation step for calculating the target speed of an engine 2 based on the required power amount W, and a step for matching the engine speed with the target engine speed and starting loading/unloading of the container 36.
