Compressor device with a temperature controlled speed limiting circuit

Disclosed is a compressor device. The device includes a case containing a compressor element which is powered by a variable speed motor with a control box that controls the motor to provide a maximum number of revolutions per minute for the compressor element. The device includes an air cooling means which sucks environmental air via an inlet and blows it back to the environment through the case and via an exhaust and a cooling circuit for the cooling of a gas which has been compressed by the compressor element. A means for measuring environmental air temperature is operatively coupled to the control box. The control box is programmed with an algorithm which causes the motor to reduce the maximum number of revolutions per minute by a certain level as soon as the measured environmental temperature rises above a maximum set level and to increase the maximum number of revolutions per minute as soon as the environmental temperature falls below the maximum set level.
