PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance an operating feel when connecting terminal fittings. SOLUTION: A rectangular cylinder part 22 is in the form of a plurality of plate-shaped parts (sidewall part 24, first opposite plate part 25 and second opposite plate part 26) circumferentially joined together via folds 27, 28 along the direction of insertion of a tab 11, and includes a pair of opposite plate parts 25, 26 facing each other across the tab 11. The rectangular cylinder part 22 elastically deflects in such a manner as to increase or decrease an interval between the pair of opposite plate parts 25, 26. The first opposite plate part 25 is formed with a contact pressure securement part 29 having a sliding contact surface 29A capable of making sliding contact with the tab 11, the sliding contact surface 29A being tilted relative to the direction of insertion of the tab 11. Because of the contact pressure securement part 29, a gap in the insertion space 22A of the tab 11 inside the rectangular cylinder part 22 gets narrower forwards in the direction of insertion of the tab 11.
