PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of any failure while reducing power consumption in a portable information terminal for performing input processing corresponding to the pushing pressure of a pressing operation. SOLUTION: The portable information terminal includes: a CPU 1, a pressure sensor 34 and a direction key 31, and the pressure sensor 34 includes capacitors 34b and 34c whose electrode intervals change according to a pressing operation and a sensor control circuit 34d for detecting capacitance of the capacitors 34b and 34c, and the sensor control circuit 34d includes: an interrupt condition storage part 6 for storing an interrupt parameter; an interruption part 7 for generating a sensor interrupt signal on the basis of the capacitance and interrupt parameter of the capacitors 34b and 34c; and an interrupt parameter updating part 8 for updating the interrupt parameter on the basis of an update request from the CPU 1. A direction key 31 is arranged in the neighborhood of the capacitors 34b and 34c, and a key interrupt signal is generated in the depressing operation, and the CPU 1 outputs the update request of the interrupt parameter to the pressure sensor 34 on the basis of the key interrupt signal.
