PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: one lens is highly likely to cause a false operation when either zooming or focusing is operated, because one operating material achieves operations of both zooming and focusing in a television lens that is driven and controlled by uniaxial two operation. SOLUTION: A lens apparatus sets an amount of an electric dead band that is applied to an operation of either zooming or focusing according to an operation speed, tilt of a curve mode, focal length, and an operating state of an operating sense changing material, or the like, and also starts dead band processing by stopping or reversing the zooming or focusing operation.
