PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more economically excellent manufacturing method of a ball chain for ornament by which a core wire can smoothly be fed into a base material for a cylindrical ball, the decorative property becomes more excellent, the appearance becomes better, a beautiful shape can be formed, the ball chain can be manufactured more simply, accurately, smoothly and efficiently, and the cost reduction is possible as well. SOLUTION: A plurality of decorative ball single units 1 which are formed in a second process are constituted of at least two kinds or more of decorative ball single units 1a and 1b of different shapes of which the shapes and the dimensions are different. At the same time, the two kinds or more of the decorative ball single units 1a and 1b of different shapes are constituted under a state wherein a plurality of sets are arranged in order while the decorative ball single units 1a and 1b are made into one set. The feeding of the base material S1 for ball in the second process is intermittently stopped for each length of one set of the decorative ball single units 1a and 1b of different shapes, and a pair of ball forming dies B separate/approach while interlocking with the intermittent stopping motion of the base material S1 for ball. Then, the base material S1 for ball is formed into a desired shape by plastically deforming the base material S1 for ball in stages for each set of the decorative ball single units 1.
