<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract a sentence which is highly unexpected for a user. <P>SOLUTION: A category classifying unit 82 is configured to classify a document into one or more categories. A word extraction unit 83 is configured to extract one or more words from the document. A word score calculating unit 84 is configured to calculate a word score for each of the one or more words extracted by the word extraction unit 83 on the basis of an appearance frequency of the word in each of the one or more categories, the word score serving as an index of unexpectedness of the word. A sentence-for-score computation extraction unit 85 is configured to extract one or more sentences from the document. A sentence score calculating unit 8 is configured to calculate a sentence score for each of the extracted one or more sentences extracted by the sentence-for-score computation extraction unit 85 on the basis of the word score, the sentence score serving as an index of unexpectedness of the sentence.
