<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus which appropriately saves ink, and to provide a printing method. <P>SOLUTION: The printing apparatus, which performs tonal expression of image data by two or more kinds of dots in different ink amounts, includes a recording ratio table 76 in which the generation ratio of two or more kinds of dots different in ink amount is stored for every tone value, and a recording ratio table changing means (recording ratio table changing module 74) which changes the generation ratio for every tone value of each dot stored in the recording ratio table 76 to reduce the total ink amount used for image data. The printing apparatus (printer 1 and computer 2) carries out a halftone processing of subtracting to a tone value being expressed for every pixel of the image data by referring to the recording ratio table 76 changed by the recording ratio table changing means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
