<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the light extraction efficiency of a semiconductor light-emitting element. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor light-emitting element LC includes a substrate 110, a base layer 130 contacting with the substrate 110 at projections 130c on a lower surface 130a having recesses and projections, an n-type semiconductor layer 140 provided in contact with the base layer 130, a light emitting layer 150 provided in contact with the n-type semiconductor layer 140, and a p-type semiconductor layer 160 provided in contact with the light emitting layer 150. A difference in refractive index between a laminated semiconductor layer 100 and a medium filling the recesses 130d of the base layer 130 is made larger than a difference in refractive index between the laminated layer 100 and substrate 110 to reflect light traveling as shown by an arrow B as shown by an arrow A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
