PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary valve which can be reduced in size, and a multi-valve type pulse tube refrigerator having such a rotary valve. SOLUTION: In the rotary valve, a plurality of first ports for supplying high-pressure refrigerants to a regenerator and exhausting low-pressure refrigerants from the regenerator and a plurality of second ports for supplying high-pressure refrigerants to a pulse tube and exhausting low-pressure refrigerants from the pulse tube are provided on a sliding surface of a stationary seat. The first ports are arranged at a rotationally symmetric position with respect to the center of the sliding surface of the stationary seat in a first track area located at the same radius position from the center of the sliding surface of the stationary seat. The second ports are arranged at a rotationally symmetric position with respect to the center of the sliding surface of the stationary seat within the first track area.
