PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to prevent malfunction of an electric load caused at starting of an engine by an idling stop function. SOLUTION: In this voltage control device, whether a boosting circuit is normal is confirmed at a period from an engine starting instruction from a user to the first stop of the engine by the idling stop function. When the boosting circuit is not normal, the idling stop function is nullified (Step S20). Therefore, the malfunction of the electric load caused during starting of the engine by the idling stop function is surely prevented. Since the operation check of the boosting circuit is performed during driving of a starter motor with a battery voltage remarkably reduced (Step S12), voltage is comparatively greatly raised when performing the operation check of the boosting circuit without applying a voltage higher than a rated voltage to the electric load, improving the determination accuracy of the operation check.
