PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone system which causes a telephone set to store an exact time signal to be obtained through a telephone line without providing a complicated voice recognition circuit or the like. SOLUTION: When the current time is registered in an extension telephone system S connected to the telephone line 40, a call is transmitted to time signal service through the telephone line 40, the current time to be transmitted as voice through the telephone line 40 is acquired in response to the transmitted call, and the acquired current time is automatically output from a speaker 25 or 6. When the time corresponding to the output current time is input from an operation part 22 or 3, the input time is stored and registered in a memory 29 or 10 as the current time.
