摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor optical modulating device which can be driven by a single power source. SOLUTION: The semiconductor optical modulating device 100 includes a laser diode 2 on which a voltage from the power source is applied and which outputs a laser beam in response to a current supplied from the power source, and a semiconductor optical modulating element 1 which modulates the laser beam in response to a high-frequency electrical signal (an electrical modulation signal) from an external. The semiconductor optical modulating device includes: a capacitor 3, one end of which is connected to a connection end of a cathode of the laser diode 2 and a cathode of the semiconductor optical modulating element 1, and the other end of which is connected to a GND; a matching resistance 4 for impedance matching, one end of which is connected to an anode of the semiconductor optical modulating element 1, and the other end of which is connected to the GND; and a capacitor 5, one end of which is connected to the anode of the semiconductor optical modulating element 1 and passes the electrical modulation signal input from the other end thereof.
