PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for folding a falling web cloth of an equivalent amount with the amount of the web cloth knitted and falling from a circular knitting machine, and a mechanism of the same. SOLUTION: In the method for folding a falling web cloth of the equivalent amount with the amount of the cloth knitted and falling from the circular knitting machine, and the mechanism of the same, the cloth 60 continuously knitted by the circular knitting machine is sent out by passing through a buffering temporarily holding mechanism 50 for temporarily keeping the cloth and also separating the length of the cloth into 3 areas, wherein the decreased amount of the cloth length X3 of a lower third area is the same as the amount of adding the increased amount of the cloth length X1 in an upper first area and the increased amount of the cloth length X2 in a second area, and also the increased amount of the cloth length X1 in the first area is equal to the increased amount of the cloth length X2 in the second area, thus the increased amount of the cloth length X3 in the third area is equal to the amount of adding the decreased amount of the cloth length X1 in the first area and the decreased amount of the cloth length X2 in the second area, and also the decreased amount of the cloth length X1 in the first area is equal to the decreased amount of the cloth length X2 in the second area, and thereby the buffering temporarily keeping mechanism 50 compensates the cloth lengths of the 3 areas with each other by a mechanical method, and can maintain a fixed tension.
