PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal icing condition detector to solve problems of a conventional dry thermal sensor. SOLUTION: In an icing condition detection system, a circuit 122 provides an output representing impending icing conditions as a function of power consumption of a single element detector 102. A thermal isolation pedestal 106 includes a detector support end that supports the single element detector 102 and an opposite strut mounting end.
