PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack with a simple configuration, wherein unintended power consumption of a secondary battery can be suppressed as much as possible. SOLUTION: The battery pack includes a secondary battery and a circuit that manages a state of the secondary battery. When used, it is attached to a charger for charging the secondary battery or the body of equipment that operates using the secondary battery as a power supply. The circuit is provided with a pair of external connecting terminals that are away from each other when the battery pack is not attached to the charger or the equipment body and connected to a terminal provided in the charger or the equipment body and connected to each other through this terminal when the battery pack is attached to the charger or the equipment body, and a control circuit that shuts down the circuit when the external connecting terminals are not connected to each other and starts up the circuit when the external connecting terminals are connected to each other.
