PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for nonaqueous secondary battery which is superior in shutdown function, heat resistance, and exoergic control function and can improve durability of a battery. SOLUTION: The separator for nonaqueous secondary battery is provided with a polyolefin porous base material and a heat resistant porous layer containing a heat resistant resin and inorganic filler laminated on a single face or both faces of the porous base material. The inorganic filler is made of magnesium hydroxide powder having an average particle size of 0.01-3.0μm and a specific surface area of 1.0-100 m<SP>2</SP>/g. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
