<p>The invention provides a process for the removal of CO2 from a gas, the process comprising the steps of: (a) removing CO2 from the gas by contacting the gas with absorbing liquid in an absorber to obtain absorbing liquid enriched in CO2 and a purified gas; (b) heating absorbing liquid enriched in CO2 (c) contacting heated absorbing liquid enriched in CO2 with a stripping gas at elevated temperature in a regenerator to obtain regenerated absorbing liquid and a hot gas stream enriched in CO2 wherein at least part of the absorbing liquid enriched in CO2 is heated through external heat exchange with the hot gas stream enriched in CO2.</p> |
