PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an early strengthening agent for a hydraulic composition, the early strengthening agent improving an initial curing property (setting time,σ1 ) of a hydraulic composition, particularly, an ultrahigh strength concrete. SOLUTION: The early strengthening agent for a hydraulic composition comprises a compound expressed by formula (1). In formula (1), R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>each independently represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; p1 represents a number of 0 to 2; q1 represents a number of 0 or 1; A<SP>1</SP>O represents a 2-3C oxyalkylene group; n1 represents an average additional molar number of A<SP>1</SP>O and represents a number of 6 to 300; and X<SP>1</SP>represents a hydrogen atom or a 1-3C alkyl group.
