PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately determine the reception propriety of broadcast performed through a computer network according to the broadcast by broadcast waves. SOLUTION: In a broadcast receiver having a first reception means for receiving first broadcast by radio broadcast and a second reception means for receiving second broadcast performed through a computer network corresponding to the first broadcast, the broadcast receiver includes a control means for determining that it is possible to view the second broadcast when the present location of the receiver is the broadcast object area of the first broadcast or when the reception signal level of the first broadcast by the first reception means is equal to or higher than a predetermined value sufficient for viewing the broadcast (steps 72-77), determining that it is impossible to view the second broadcast when the present location of the receiver is not the broadcast object area of the first broadcast and when the reception signal level of the first broadcast by the first reception means is equal to or lower than a predetermined value sufficient for viewing the broadcast (steps 72-76, 78, 79), and executing predetermined control on the basis of the determined result.
