PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vane type pump having high durability and capable of maintaining a stable pump performance from the early time of use. SOLUTION: When the distance between the plate portion 22 of an upper casing 20 and an under casing 30 is designated as L, the thickness of the first skin layer 206 of the upper casing 20 and the second skin layer 306 of the under casing 30 is designated as Ls, the outer diameter of a rotor 40 is designated as Dr, the axial thickness of the rotor 40 is designated as Hr, one of the intersections of a virtual plane including the axis Ax of the rotor 40 and the outer circumferential end of the aperture plane of a second hole 432 connecting with a first hole 431 is designated as a first end point P1, an intersection positioned on the same side as that of the first end point P1 relative to the axis Ax of the rotor 40 out of the intersections of the virtual plane and the outer circumferential end of the opening plane of the second hole 432 opposite to the first hole 431 is designated as a second end point P2, and the angle formed by a virtual line Lv passing the first end point P1 and the second end point P2 and the axis Ax of the rotor 40 is designated asθ, the second hole 432 satisfies an equation (1).
