<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for bright and clear color expression as in a wide color gamut display even in a conventional narrow color gamut display. <P>SOLUTION: This display device 1 includes a luminance adjusting section 12 for adjusting the luminance of an input video signal corresponding to a predetermined color space. The display device 1 sets, as a function of luminance and saturation for each hue, a display line showing the range of the color space displayable by the display device 1, a target line showing the target luminance of the input video signal, and a discrimination line for discriminating whether the luminance of the input video signal is made higher or lower than that of the target line. The luminance adjusting section 12 detects the hue, saturation, and luminance of the pixels constituting the input video signal, and adjusts the luminance of the pixel to the target luminance of the target line based on the comparing result of the luminance of the pixel with the discrimination line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
