PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more difficult-to-forge security thread by recording even magnetic information not a security thread made to merely have an optical function such as a hologram, recording the optical information of the hologram or the like into the security thread as the magnetic information, and reading and comparimg the optical information and the magnetic information. SOLUTION: In this security thread, a reflection layer, the hologram, or a diffraction grating is formed on one face of a substrate, and a magnetic layer mainly formed of a magnetic material is formed on the other face.
