<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decoding system that eliminates transmission of a field weighing coefficient. <P>SOLUTION: The decoding system includes an accumulation medium ex402, and a reproducing device ex403 for decoding the coded pictures recorded in the accumulation medium ex402 by block. The reproducing device ex403 includes a variable length decoding section VLD for decoding a frame weighting coefficient coded and included in a coded image data and generating a field weighting coefficient from the decoded frame weighting coefficient when a picture is configured of frames and the picture is coded to adaptively decide whether the blocks configuring the picture are frame-decoded or field-decoded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
