PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a lower bit of a main screen signal from being added to an OSD signal erroneously.
SOLUTION: A comparator 110 compares the OSD signal with a setting value (Talfa) to generate an OSD flag. Block division flag generation and OSD flag sampling units 102a to 102c divide an input image signal into coding block units comprising M pixels for output to encoders 103a to 103c, and sample the OSD flag from the comparator 110 at a sampling interval of f pixels for output to a delaying unit 104a. The coding block and OSD flag generation units 105a to 105c sort coding data blocks that are blocked in units of N bits comprising uncoded heading data, second and subsequent (M-1) coding data, and r bits, and embed r bits of OSD information obtained by sampling the OSD flag in the r bits within each coding data block of N bits.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
|
