PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition containing a halogen-containing elastomer, wherein water resistance of a vulcanized and molded product forme from the rubber composition is high and there is no possibility that water bubbles occur therein without using a compound containing lead, to provide a water-resistant electric wire and a water-resistant cable, obtained by applying and vulcanizing the rubber composition, to provide a water resistant rubber molded article obtained by molding and vulcanizing the rubber composition, and to provide a water-resistant rubber molded article obtained by vulcanization molding of the rubber composition. SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains a halogen-containing elastomer and a bismuth-based compound. A water-resistant vulcanized and molded body (electric wire coating material, cable coating material or rubber molded article) is obtained from the rubber composition.
