PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically convert moving pictures into a transfer destination form within upper limit time at a transfer destination in order to transfer the moving pictures to other media. SOLUTION: The moving pictures by an imaging unit (101) are compression-coded and recorded in a recording medium (110). There is a selected scene playback mode for playing back scenes selected by a user from an index picture, and a play list playback mode for continuously playing back one or more scenes specified in a play list. A control unit (107) converts one or more selected scenes into a form according to the transfer destination in the selected scene playback mode, and couples all the scenes to be described in the play list to be converted into the form according to the transfer destination in the play list playback mode. However, in any playback mode, when there is upper limit time at the transfer destination, the scenes are divided within the upper limit time to be converted into the transfer destination form.
