<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform processing and to reduce a network load. <P>SOLUTION: A user PC 20 stores an SNMP command and a predetermined processing performance condition in an SLP search request to create a search request, and multicasts the created search request to printers 40, etc. The printer 40 receiving the created search request acquires/performs the SNMP command stored in the SLP search request, and if the performance result satisfies the processing performance condition, responds to the search request by SLP. The SLP search request can trigger the performance of the SNMP command and the result-dependent response to the SLP search request to dispense with separate network transmission output or acquisition of SLP request processing and SNMP search requests through a network and to reflect the performance result of the SNMP command in the SLP processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
