PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly display device or the like which displays information of a content visually intelligibly and is more approachable.

SOLUTION: A television receiver 10 includes: an image acquisition unit 42 which acquires a character image 102 which corresponds to information of a broadcast program and represents a prescribed character having at least a face, from a memory 7; and a display control unit 21 which displays the character image 102 acquired by the image acquisition unit 42, on a liquid crystal display panel 22 together with the broadcast program.
