<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information storage device in which small compartments for storing information are arranged three-dimensionally inside a solid body, the reliability of reading data is improved, the data recording time is reduced, the recording capacity is increased, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The solid body having at least one pair of parallel plate portions on its surface is used for a storage medium. Information to be stored is divided into bits and stored in discrete minute areas that are distributed three-dimensionally inside the storage medium. Anisotropy is imparted to pitches of memory cells. The pitch in a direction perpendicular to the plate portion is caused to be larger than the pitch in a direction parallel to the planar portion. Moreover, given data in units of n bits is converted into a digital format where the unit is m bits (m is larger than n) and the number of 1s included in the unit is smaller than n, and is then recorded into the memory medium. When data is recorded into the medium, data represented by the m bits is arranged and recorded in the plate in the perpendicular direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
