<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an energy saving effect in a vulcanizer used for manufacturing a tire. <P>SOLUTION: The vulcanizer has a mold, an upper platen, a lower platen, an upper heat shield, and a lower heat shield. The upper heat shield 12 is arranged upward of the upper platen. The lower heat shield 14 is arranged downward of the lower platen. The heat shields 12 and 14 have bodies 26 and heat shielding parts 28. The heat shielding part 28 is covered with the body 26. The substance of the heat shielding part 28 is different from the substance of the body 26. The thermal conductivityλ1 of the heat shielding part 28 is preferably smaller than the thermal conductivityλ2 of the body 26. The heat shielding part 28 is preferably gas. The body 26 preferably includes a base body 31 having a recess and a cover 32.
