<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method which solve such the problem that, when a camera position in photographing cannot be appropriately estimated when combining a plurality of photographed images obtained by photographing a subject in a divided manner, a proper combination result cannot be obtained. <P>SOLUTION: A coupling image is produced by applying lens aberration correction and perspective correction to each of captured images in accordance with positional information of an imaging apparatus during imaging (S704, S707). Further, information indicating a differential of pixel values in an overlapping area of the coupling image and an adjacent produced coupling image is calculated as an evaluation value (S705, S708). Such a camera position as to minimize the evaluation value is then estimated (S710) and by applying lens aberration correction and perspective correction in accordance with the camera position estimated, the coupling image of a corresponding captured image is coupled with the adjacent produced coupling image (S712). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
